Dr. Cynthia Kon is a mathematician whose research interest is in the computational modeling of dynamical systems. Her research focuses on modeling the spread of infectious diseases.
Her PhD dissertation topic was on formulating a generic model for the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases based on reaction-diffusion equations.
She received her BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Universiti Sains Malaysia, MSc in Computational Science, and a PhD in Computer Science from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
Dr. Kon has extensive teaching experience in Mathematical undergraduate studies. She currently teaches Engineering Mathematics at Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak).
