Dr. C.L. Yiin received his BEng(Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in 2013. He received his MSc and Ph.D. from the same institution in 2016 and 2019. Dr. Yiin is employed as a research officer during his part time doctoral study, working on the research area of biomass conversion to biochemical and value added materials at Biomass Processing Cluster under Centre for Biofuel and Biochemical Research (CBBR) in UTP. Upon graduation, Dr. Yiin joined the School of Chemical Engineering & Science, Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus) (SUTS) as a Lecturer in 2019.
His research interests include microwave technologies, green solvents, oil palm biomass pretreatment, conversion of cellulose & lignin into value-added products and life cycle assessment (LCA).
