Biography
A Canadian with more than twenty years of management experience in Asia Pacific, Martin is a practitioner-academic who spends the bulk of the year running his two specialty coffee companies in the Philippines. Since 2011, Martin also maintains a one-semester per year commitment to sharing his industry experience in the classroom at Swinburne. He has been an invited guest lecturer on entrepreneurship and business at universities in the Philippines, China, Macau and Malaysia. His companies have been showcased in a number of national periodicals in the Philippines, including Entrepreneur magazine. Before launching his business career, he spent 5 years as an economic development consultant and as a research officer for the Asia Development Research Forum in Singapore. Martin’s research interests lay at the intersection of business, government and society relations, with a particular emphasis on CSR in emerging market contexts. He has taught various subjects ranging from introductory classes to MBA courses. Martin is currently pursuing his doctoral studies with University of Fribourg, Switzerland.Research Interests
