Advanced Standing provides academic credit towards a Swinburne course. It is granted based on:
You normally apply for Advanced Standing when you submit your application to study at Swinburne. Advanced Standing is assessed based on the supporting documentation provided with your application. All assessed and approved Advanced Standing will be listed on your offer letter.

Important: Original or certified copies will only be accepted as supporting documentation for applications.
You can still apply for Advanced Standing once you have received your offer of study, but all applications must be completed , NO later than the end of the first week of your course commencement date
If you’re currently studying at Swinburne and want to transfer from one related course to another, Swinburne will automatically credit units from your old course to your new one, where applicable.
Please note additions or variations to granted Advanced Standing (exemptions) may impact your student visa.
To change or apply for Advanced Standing after you arrive, you must submit your application before the end of the first week of Semester.
