The Science laboratories extend over two floors within a purpose-built facility completed in August, 2008. The laboratories were designed to cater for all the practical needs of both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Biotechnology.
The labs are equipped for different purposes. The labs for microbial culture work contain all standard equipment, for example static and shaking incubators, a bioreactor and a laminar flow cabinet. It is also equipped with a compound recording microscope, a recording inverted microscope, spectrophotometer, and downstream processing apparatus.
Our high-end analytical instrumentation are stationed in separate function-built rooms. At present instruments available are such as Gas Chromatograph – Mass Spectroscope, High Performance Liquid Chromatograph, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and a Fluorescence Spectrophotometer.
