  • Ensure all safety legislation legislations are adhered to, and policies and practices are adopted; and

Accountant – Business Intelligence Analyst

The position supports the business performance and its related activities of the Sarawak Campus. It is anticipated that Sarawak Campus will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

The position will provide business performance support which will include developing and implementing business intelligence (BI) and tech savvy tools for data visualisation, business analysis for strategic planning and decision-making, budget and budgetary control, costing and management reports for Management Units, management of financial operations, risk management and annual unit action plan. In addition, the position will work closely with Manager, FBA on finance digitalisation transformation. The position will undertake a variety of duties in a busy office environment, working independently whilst exercising judgement to prioritise tasks in order to meet the deadlines set.

The position will be required to work within a culture of continuous improvement and will be supported and encouraged to identify areas where efficiency can be improved and control measures can be implemented to achieve a higher standard.

The position requires a high level of financial, report presentation, clerical and secretarial skills including Microsoft Excel and Words, time management and good communication skills. The position is also expected to work effectively in a team environment and to interact effectively with the University staff and relevant Heads of Management Units, and to the public in providing quality customer service at all times.

Finance Executive – Financial Services [fixed-term contract]

The position is an executive position and supports the financial and business performance functions of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

The position will ensure proper management of financial accounting functions (including group accounting) and support the digitalisation transformation for FBA. In addition, the position will also support the business performance which includes but is not limited to developing:
  1. business intelligence (BI) and the savvy tools for data visualisation and business analysis;
  2. annual budgeting process, costing and management units’ reporting;
  3. update of the unit action plan and key results areas set under Campus Plan; and
  4. financial related policies, risk management and legal compliances.
The position will also undertake a variety of duties in a busy office environment, working independently whilst exercising judgement to prioritise tasks in order to meet the datelines set.

Finance Officer – Treasury Services

The position is an executive position and supports the financial accounting operations and tax functions of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

The position will report to the Finance Executive, Assistant Manager, and Director, Finance and Business Analysis (FBA) to undertake initiatives/projects independently besides having decent verbal and written communication skills. The position will be one of the subject-matter experts to drive the digitalisation of finance operations. In addition, the position will also be accountable for the financial accounting operations and assisting in the direct and indirect taxes planning, assessment and compliances. The position will undertake a variety of duties in a busy office environment, working independently whilst exercising judgement to prioritise tasks in order to meet the datelines set.

    Manager – Marketing

    The Manager, Marketing will head the three main portfolio areas of this unit: branding, events, and marketing communications including digital marketing. The Manager is responsible for achieving the set targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the unit. The position will work closely with the student recruitment team to assist in the acquisition target for the pre-university and degree qualifications portfolio.

    The position is responsible for the leadership, management and development of this unit to develop and implement strategies and tactics which build awareness and preference for Swinburne in domestic and international markets for the purpose of student recruitment.

    This is a role that works across the whole University to provide a consistent, cohesive and strategic approach to branding and marketing communications. Areas of responsibilities are inclusive of Branding, Marketing, Media and Public Relations, Publications and Content Development, Events and Communications across domestic and international markets.

    The responsibilities include devising and implementing a marketing plan with direct accountability for a sizeable budget, analysing and measuring the effectiveness of lead generation campaigns.

    The Manager, Marketing will lead and manage Swinburne Sarawak’s media, creative, content and digital agencies and the annual budget for the unit to deliver integrated campaigns which are cohesive, impactful and with a focus on student recruitment and brand health. The position works closely with academic and administrative staff at Swinburne Sarawak, as well as liaises with colleagues at Swinburne Australia to ensure consistency in branding, marketing and the efficient use of global resources.

    As the Head of the unit, the position will invest sufficient time in the professional development of the team through mentoring and coaching, whilst ensuring staff in the unit have clear professional development plans and training opportunities.

    As Swinburne Sarawak is expanding rapidly, the scope of responsibilities of the position is expected to grow accordingly.

    Officer – Digital Marketing

    The University desires to expand the use of digital marketing for the primary purpose of student recruitment through search, content, social media and all other digital platforms to increase lead generation and management with an ultimate aim of conversion through enrolment.

    The University aims to maintain a very high profile in its target markets through advertising the Swinburne brand to grow awareness, preference and recommendation. This position will support these marketing and communications needs of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

    This position will contribute significantly to all digital marketing activities related to student recruitment for the University with a key focus on digital lead generation and management via advertising on paid, owned and earned platforms. The activities including:
    • provide a ‘whole of university’ approach to developing a digital marketing strategy;
    • develop copy for digital advertising;
    • employ “growth-hacking” marketing strategies to increase return-on-marketing-investment;
    • explore new and innovative ways of increasing quality leads for the Student Recruitment team; and
    • update and maintaining websites belonging to the university or as assigned.
    The position works closely with academic and administrative staff at Swinburne Sarawak and liaises with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

    Consultancy Project Executive [fixed-term contract]

    The responsibilities of this position include general administration of any internal and external research grants in the University, although the main priority focuses on Research Consultancy Projects. The administrative duties include project planning support, documentation management, schedule coordination, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder engagement, resource management, the communication and provision of grant related information to researchers, and the handling of all grant administration processes. This includes but is not limited to, processing of claims, management and entry of data, maintenance of filing systems as well as some analytical tasks. The position is expected to help the School of Research implement and improve new processes and guidelines related to research grants and research consultancy projects.

    In undertaking these responsibilities, the position is expected to exhibit a highly professional approach in working closely and collaboratively with management and staff members at both the Sarawak and Melbourne campuses as well as with parties (private and government) external to the University.
