We are the champions!

KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus won almost all the games in the MASISWA Sports Carnival Sarawak Zone to take the overall championship title, recently.

The university won in badminton, netball, volleyball, 10-pin bowling and chess, collecting a total of 40 points. Sepak takraw was the only game Swinburne Sarawak did not dominate. 

In second place was SATT College with eight points. Unitar, with three points, came in third.

Tuan Haji Ariffin Mohamed Yusof, Secretary General for Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia (MASISWA), handed over the prizes and officially closed the tournament.

A total of 10 private institutions of higher learning competed in the three-day sports carnival from 16 to 18 November.

The participating teams were from Swinburne Sarawak, Kolej Sunway Kuching, SATT College, Masterskill, Segi College, Unitar, Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology, Institute Executive, Kolej Laila Taib and PTPTL Sarawak.

This year’s carnival was a joint effort by the Ministry of Higher Education, Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia, and Swinburne Sarawak.

Swinburne Sarawak was the main host while Sunway College co-hosted the event.
