Melissa started her career in 2001 as a Facilitator and thereafter a Centre Administrator in COMPUTERTOTS, Kuching until 2007. Her role included teaching children aged 3–12 years old. She was also in-charge of training other facilitators in the learning centre and facilitating COMPUTERTOTS outreach programs taught at other kindergartens in Kuching.
Melissa joined Swinburne Sarawak in September 2007 as an Accommodation Officer. Part of her role was to be a live-in warden, where she experienced working with students from different backgrounds and countries. She also supported them with pastoral care.
Melissa is now the Executive in PPQ. Her role requires her to deal with Ministries and Professional bodies administratively to ensure the university’s courses and licenses remain valid. She also supports the university in ensuring the policies and related policy documents are up-to-date. One of her key roles include managing digital repositories, to support systematic documentation of voluminous documents. She has over 15 years of professional administrative experience here in Swinburne Sarawak.
Melissa also served as a Professional Staff representative in the University’s Council for the term Mar 2022–Feb 2024 and is a certified Trainer with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).
