Swinburne Sarawak to hold Open Day this Saturday

KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has lined up a series of activities for its Open Day which will be held from 10am to 5pm this Saturday, 15 December, 2012.

Visitors to the event will have a glimpse of what the courses involve. Among others its Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, for example, will demonstrate the use of microscopes and hand cream-making.

Student projects such as robots, civil engineering models and equipment will also be on display.

‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’ interactive game will be made available by the Faculty of Business and Design. Final-year projects of students will also be exhibited and visitors could try their hand at some of the games created by multimedia design students and review a series of students’ three-dimensional animation work.

Swinburne Sarawak offers a range of courses in engineering, commerce/business, science, computing and design from foundation to postgraduate levels.

The application fee for these courses will be waived on the day. Forecast SPM or STPM results will be accepted for application.

Its next intake is 7 January for foundation and 25 February for degree programs.

A preview of its MBA (International) will also be held on the day from 2pm to 4pm.

Academics from the respective faculties will be available to provide advice on the courses and assist with application.

Those who meet the entry requirement will be issued a letter of offer to study at Swinburne Sarawak, on the day.

School leavers unsure on the course of study may take a quick aptitude test. University counsellors will provide guidance on suitable courses based on the results of the test.

Information on scholarships and study loans will also be made available. Visitors could take a guided tour of the campus to learn about the facilities and services at Swinburne Sarawak.       

Swinburne Sarawak campus is well known for its quality education. It recently retained the Tier 5: Excellent status rating in the Malaysian Qualifications Agency’s 2011 Rating System for Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (SETARA ’11).
